Statement about the Art
“This is a two painting series of my two cats Gup Gup and Moo.
Although, they are technically not black cats themselves, I wanted to
play with the ideology of what black cats represent. Along with
shadows and memories. This painting is about memory. About
missing these two cats and how their memory stays in my head,
but as time passes it feels like they are stuck in the shadows.
They are still alive, but they have not been in my life for some time.
This is me paying homage to the love these little cats have created for me.
While also playing with the magic that
mosaic tiles have. Which I think is what I think black cats and
